Fencing in the Park

During the summer recess from fencing class at Homestead High, fencers can be found at Serra Park in Sunnyvale.  See the map below.

This is an informal fencing soiree.  Starting at about 7:00pm people fence/eat/gab until it is way too dark to fence and the sprinklers go off.

What you can expect:

• Some lighthearted fencing.
• Perhaps some electric scoring equipment. Or not.
• Refreshments.  Choice beverages are normally shared, so bring your beverage of choice.
• Snacks.  Ranging from chips, dips, cookies, lumpia, etc.

What not to expect:

• Formal instruction.
• Provided fencing equipment, although one can typically find fencers who are busy not fencing and who have some equipment to share.
• Footwork drills.  Does anyone really want to hang out at the park and do footwork drill???

• Good comraderie.  Well, maybe we should say comraderie. You decide whether it is good or not.
• Not very serious fencing.
• Occasional mosquitoes.  Fend them off with your flick attack!
